In Memory

Jim Geyer

Jim Geyer

The following was received from Jim's family:

George “Jim” James Geyer of El Dorado County came to rest on February 11, 2021, at the age of 73. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and served his country in both the Navy and Air Force where he retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He is survived by his loving wife Lindy Brandalise Geyer; son Chad Geyer and wife Becky; daughter Amy Pelzner and husband Mark; granddaughters Sydnie and Bailey; grandsons Jeffrey, Rylan, and Nathan; beloved Uncle and Brother-In-Law. Jim was a world traveler, visiting over 60 countries with his wife. Of all things, Jim was most proud of his family. It was his true calling in life to be our Papa, and he loved his grandchildren with all his heart. His smile, so genuine, and a lifetime of cherished memories will forever be in our hearts. Find your wings, Papa. We love you.

Jim was just an all-around great guy!  I  think I met him at Smedley and will always remember his kindness and great smile.  I know his family meant the world to him.  His death is such a loss for everyone -- Thinking of Lindy and his family at these difficult times and that they will know how much Jim was loved by his fellow Valley classmates.   He will be deeply missed.

Jim had it going on at Valley, a great personality, sharp dresser, super athletic, real intelligent, lots of friends. I send my condolences to Lindy and the entire family. Rest in peace Jim.

Dear Lindy, we have exchanged messages on Facebook for years now, can't believe Jim has passed. We talked about meeting in Carmel. Have so enjoyed your family photos, travels & stories! His legacy will be his great family. With Sympathy, Martha

Besides being a great athlete and super intelligent guy, Jim had a great voice.  He and I formed a band while in high school and his Mom would patiently put up with our rehearsing at their house.  We'd sing Righteous Brothers songs in class and the guy could really sing. Reconnecting at the 50 year reunion was such a joy, we promised to get together at some point...have to do it "upstairs" now I guess. Deepest sorrow and much sympathy to Lindy and the Geyer family.

Jim was such an awesome guy in high school, a friend. He amazed me with his athletics. His friendship and our conversations were something I'll always have in my memories. A retired Lt. Col. eh, well that should fit him well, he was probably a good and well appreciated officer.
See ya on the other side brother!
